This Inter-generational Photography Program, we called “Healthy Eating”. The program involved 4th and 5th graders from a local elementary school, Corpus Christi. The inter-generational photography program challenged all participants to think about healthy eating and foster inter-generational relationships; providing all participants an opportunity for creative expression.
The participants were divided into pairs and embark on a “photo safari” at the Green Market on 116th street and Broadway with the theme of “Healthy Eating”. The pairs were encouraged to take targeted photo shots of the produce and meet the farmers. The participants brought their produce to the kitchens at Teacher’s College and MRHS to prepare meals and take photos of their creations. In addition to sharing in photo taking and creating meals, the pairs worked together to create a memory place-mat with the photos and recipes of the food they created together.
