About the Early Alzheimer's Foundation Inc

The Early Alzheimer’s Foundation Inc (EAF) is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit foundation founded in 2005. From the begining we have established strong partnerships with other not-for-profit organizations.  We believe that the sum of the whole is greater than its individual parts.

Our in-person programs are often tied to community-based organizations that provide venues for our classes. We think bringing the program to where people live is preferable to having memory challenged individuals negotiate to and from remote locations in the city.

For example, The Memory Tree is offered in collaboration with Morningside Retirement and Health Services. Each week we serve the residents of New York with a program comprised of respite/recreation time for caregivers and the early Alzheimer’s individual. The Memory Tree provides a place where they can, meet with others that are dealing with similar experiences.

We also have partnered with some of New York’s most prominent arts institutions to provide free and low-cost programs for our participants.

About the Early Alzheimer's Foundation Inc

The Memory Tree’s focus is on providing help and education to early-stage Alzheimer’s persons and their caregivers. It also offers outreach to people who have self-identified as having memory issues, but have not yet been diagnosed, as a means for early intervention.

The Memory Tree is a positive, low-stigma, high-reward program for getting people the help they need: methods of resisting the effects of memory loss with mental and physical exercise.

It is an oasis for people with mild memory loss as well as for caregivers.  It is a place of hope.

Volunteers at The early Alzheimer's Foundation Inc

From the outset our organization has leaned heavily on volunteers to maximize the services we can provide to the community.  From volunteers who help in the classroom and on zoom, to those who work in behind the scenes, volunteers are the life’s blood of our orgainzation.

We are especially thankful to our Board of Directors who volunteer their time and effort to set policy and offer guidence.
